Composite Structures- the International scientific NACRE Workshop lasted for two days from 18 up 19 August 2009.
Among the participants of the workshop were nine representatives from Great Britain, Germany, Poland and France, (Airbus SAS, Airbus D, DLR, WUT, UWE), scientists and specialists from TsAGI, TsNIISM, RSCTU n.a. Mendeleev, EDB n.a. Sukhoi, EDB n.a. Ilyushin.
The presentations focused on critical issues of aircraft composite structures design.

George Zamula, Deputy Director of TsAGI, Head of Strength Complex, proposed for consideration the issue of the complete implementation of the PCM high qualities

Eugeny Penkov, the chief specialist of EDB n.a. Sukhoi, gave a number of parametrical computation outputs on the stacking influence of composite coating on wing features

Victor Fomin, leading scientist of TsAGI RD-3, and Joern Goos, from AIRBUS (Germany), are discussing the problem of deformation influence on Flying Wing aerodynamic properties

Alexander Dzuba, Head of the Static Strength Department, informed participants of the capacities of the institute to perform full-scale structure tests

Zdobyslaw Goraj, professor of the Warsaw Technology University, presented the results of comparing two concepts for advanced passenger aircraft

Vyacheslav Kazhan Head of the TsAGI RC Department, proposed a novel concept of supersonic business jet aircraft that enables weight savings

Many words of appreciation were addressed to Alexander Shanyguin, one of the main organizers of the Workshop

Participants of Composite Structure Workshop, ÌÀÊS-2009
The foreign researchers appreciated the level of investigations performed by TsAGI specialists within the NACRE Project.
They showed their interest to continue cooperating within other projects under the EC 2FP aegis.
