Russian-European Workshop "Concepts and Technologies of Air Traffic Management"

The Russian-European workshop "Concepts and Technologies of Air Traffic Management" was held in the first time in the frame of 9th International Symposium "Aviation Technologies of XXI Century" from 19 to 22 of August, 2007.

The main purpose of the seminar were to discuss the perspectives of the development of Russian and European air transport systems and harmonization of regulatory base.
In the agenda of the seminar a lot of attention were paid to discussion of new concepts of ATM, progress in avionics, planning and ATM systems.

The following sessions were be organized in the framework of the seminar:

  • Advanced Technologies of CNS/ATM
  • ATM Regulatory Base
  • Avionics
  • Air Traffic Planning and Simulation Processes

The necessity of such seminars with participation of the leading specialists from EU and Russia is determined by more and more intensive globalization and unification of world air transport system.

Increasing demands to effectiveness of airspace utilization, accuracy of navigation and flight safety make inadmissible the existence of transitional areas with different regulatory databases and requirements to air traffic.

European Union countries are the closest neighbours to Russia and thus the problems of unification of processes in the European and Russian air transport systems o are of vital importance.

Presently the necessity of the single airspace creation over EU and Russia are of no doubt. And it is extremely important that these unified requirements will be really international and will be developed taking into account the opinions of all participants.

The Russian-European workshop "Concepts and technologies of air traffic" provides a unique opportunity for specialists from Russia and EU to form a single vision of the future air transport system, exchange of views about the ways of it's development, define a set of Key Performance Areas (KPAs) and to outline the ways of harmonization and improvement of regulatory database.
