“Computational experiment in aeroacoustics” Conference 2010![]()
TsAGI scientists took part in the third "Computational experiment in aeroacoustics" Open All-Russian scientific and practical conference that was held from 20 to 25 September in Svetlogorsk, Kaliningrad region. The organizers of conference were the RAS Institute of Mathematical Modeling (Moscow) and Russian State University n. a. I Kant (Kaliningrad). The Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute is the traditional sponsor of the conference. TsAGI’s leading specialists made the following presentations: "New approaches to leading edge noise reduction," the authors are V.F. Kopiev, M.Yu. Zaitsev, I.V. Belyaev; "High speed jet noise active control through plasma actuators: new approaches and prospects," the authors are V.F. Kopiev, N.N. Ostrikov, V.A. Kopiev,M.Yu. Zaitsev, I.V. Belyaev, G.A. Faranossov; "Experience of using the computational aerodynamics in experimental activities in TsAGI," the authors are S.M. Bosnyakov, A.R. Gorboushin, S.A. Glazkov, E.V. Kazhan, I.A. Korsakov, F.V. Lysenkov, S.V. Matyash, S.V. Mikhailov; "TVD-schemes usage for modeling the axisymmetric jet acoustic far-field," the authors are S.V. Mikhailov, A.A. Saveliev; "Noise localization when round jet flow around the cylinder under physical and numerical experiments," the authors are V.F. Kopiev, I.V. Abalkin, G.A. Faranossov; A.V. Gorobets, N.K. Kozoubskaya, N.N. Ostrikov, M.Yu. Zaitsev. The "Perspective aeroacoustics research trends" presentation of Professor Viktor Kopiev, Head of aeroacoustic research department, PhD, was of a particular interest. The activities of the Institute were analyzed that are aimed at generating the national program concept of environmental aviation. These activities cover the total spectrum of potential work packages to begin with the task definition and finishing with flight tests. TsAGI’s part is to unite all Russian research centers for the sake of creating the eco-aircraft. More than seventy Russian researches made their presentations on the current challenges of aeroacoustics. The following research centers and scientific organizations took part in the Conference: the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI), the Central Institute of Aviation Motors (CIAM), the Central research Engineering Institute, the RAS Institute of Mathematical Modeling (IMM), the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IThAM), the RAS Institute of Mechanics, the RAS Institute of Applied Mathematics n.a. M.V. Keldysh, the State Space Scientific Production Center n.a. M.V. Khrunichev, the RAS Institute of Safe Nuclear Power engineering development, the Institute of Acoustics n.a. Academician N.N. Andreev, the St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University, Moscow State University, Novosibirsk State University, the "Sukhoi Experimental Design Bureau " JSC, the "Aero-Engine" JSC and others. For the first time ever renown researchers from ONERA (France), DLR (Germany), Ecole Central de Lyon (France), TUB (Germany), University of Poitier (France), Manchester University (Great Britain), Cambridge University (Great Britain) participated in the Conference. More than eighty one presentations were made on the following topics: computational aeroacoustics; numeric simulation application for aeroacoustics, applied tasks solutions; methods of processing and visualizing the numeric and physical experiments data; assessment methods of fluid acoustic properties, and; heating problems of aeroacoustics: theory, experiment and practice.
