TsAGI takes part in the Hydroaviasalon-2020 international conference

Kirill Sypalo took part in the conference entitled Development Ways of the Light Aircraft Industry for General Aviation and Commercial Operation. The event was held in a combined format (face-to-face meetings and video conferencing).
The conference participants discussed the prospects for the development of domestic general aviation and development in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as issues of international cooperation and regulatory regulation of the European Economic Union, the transition from the export of air transport to the export of services.
Scientific director of the National Research Center “Zhukovsky Institute”, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Engineering Union, President of the Union of Aviation Industrialists of Russia Boris Alyoshin noted the possibility of Russian drones to achieve leadership in the world UAV market. Autonomous aviation is very useful in delivering necessary cargo throughout the country, in providing frontier services and others.
’The constructive dialogue held at the conference on general aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles will help to find ways of interaction and further cooperation with Russian colleagues and foreign partners,’ said Kirill Sypalo, TsAGI General Director, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
For the first time, the Gelendzhik Hydroaviasalon was held in September 1996. 82 companies and organizations from 15 countries took part in the exhibition. Over the years, interest in the Hydroaviasalon has grown from both technical specialists and members of the public. Then, in 2016, more than 30 thousand people attended the events that were part of the official program, the number of sites on the business program reached 60, and the number of guests — over 26 thousand. In 2018, 203 companies from six countries presented their products and services, 60 events were held as part of the business program, and the Salon welcomed more than 26.4 thousand visitors.
In 2020, the Hydroaviasalon-2020 was held in a reduced format. The conference was attended by representatives of companies and associations from Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Canada, the USA, etc.
