In mid-October representatives of the Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute named after professor N.E. Zhukovsky (TsAGI, part of the National Research Center “Institute named after N.E.Zhukovsky”) took part in the conference titled “Greener aviation conference: Achievements and perspectives.” Experts from all over the world were given the opportunity to analyze the environmental problems associated with air transport, and to contribute into their solution. The event was held in Brussels (Belgium).

TsAGI scientists presented their research work on new aircraft configurations, as well as on reducing air traffic noise at the conference’s thematic sections. National programs, collective actions to reduce aviation’s negative impact on the environment and other issues were discussed at one of the round tables held within the conference. Evgeny Andreev, TsAGI’s Director for Cooperation with European Countries, gave a report, “Research in the Field of Aeronautics on the Environmental Issues in Russia,” representing the aeronautics National contact point operating within the Institute.

“We productively communicated with partners, in particular, with the management of the Clean Sky 2 program,” explained Evgeny Andreev. “The event proved that TsAGI’s research work is at the international level and in the trend of world science.”

This was the second such conference. The first was held in 2014 with the participation of TsAGI as well.
