TsAGI participated in the celebration of the 10th anniversary of Canada-Russia Business Council

1 July 2014

On June 18, representatives of the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Professor N.E. Zhukovsky — Deputy General Director, Head of Aircraft Strength Complex Mikhail Zichenkov and Head of Foreign Economic Activity Department Sergey Sidorov took part in the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Canada-Russia Business Council (CRBC), which cooperates with FSUE TsAGI. The event was held in Moscow.

The Canada-Russia Business Council is a non-profit organization established under the General Agreement between the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) and the Canadian Business Association in Russia, part of the Canada-Eurasia Russia Business Association (CERBA) for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the Russian and Canadian business community. Key objectives of CRBC include the development of direct business contacts between businessmen of the two countries in the priority sectors, including aerospace, expansion of Russian business presence in the Canadian market and creation of a comfortable business environment.

Commenting on the results of the meeting, Sergey Sidorov said: “Despite the current political nuances, representatives of Canadian science and industry demonstrate a strong desire to maintain ties with Russia and are aimed at stable and fruitful cooperation.”

“We are familiar enough with the Canadian aviation sector, and currently are considering the possible formats for future cooperation,” said Mikhail Zichenkov. TsAGI already has experience implementing projects for Canadian partners: formerly the Institute conducted aeroelasticity computational studies. In the long term, according to experts of the Russian aviation science center, it is possible to continue work in this area under the auspices of CDBC. Among other priorities and urgent topics for scientific collaboration is the research in the field of icing and composite materials.
